Wow! We successfully completed the first quarter! Today report cards were handed out. I can't believe we are almost one week into the second quarter and one week away from Thanksgiving break...time is flying! This week we are writing descriptive essays on our favorite foods. Students learned to ionclude the 5 senses in their writing to add vivid details to their essay. We also began our 4th unit in math on decimals. This is usually a challenging unit, but I'm sure we will accomplish our goals at the end of it!

I haven't blogged in a while so here I am. how about this wonderful weather! We have been moving along great in the classroom. My students have been doing an excellient job! We did many activities on the SMARTBoard on nouns, subtracting numbers, and even a cool halloween ordered pairs activity. Today the students completed a writing activity where they had to write what they would put in a witches brew. It was a great activity that involved creativty and we even touched on measurement! The students are getting very excited about halloween and our classroom looks very festive! We celebrated Red Ribbon Week and today students brought in a canned food item to donate to St. Fransis of Asissi kitchen for Thanksgiving. The slogan was "Put a can on Drugs." Tomorrow is dress down down and everyone is asked to where red! We are all excited for the weekend.
